SpaceX signs a $6.3 billion compute deal with Reflection AI

SpaceX will supply open-source AI lab Reflection AI with Nvidia GB300 chips from its Colossus 2 data center near Memphis, with Reflection paying $150 million a month starting July 1 through 2029. Either side can walk away with 90 days' notice after the first three months, and the deal is notably smaller than SpaceX's existing compute arrangements with Anthropic and Google.

Apple previews AI features for iOS 27

Apple detailed a set of practical, on-device AI features coming to iPhone in iOS 27, including splitting restaurant bills, securing passwords automatically after a data breach is detected, and automating routine tasks. The focus is on quietly useful assistance rather than a chatbot-first overhaul of Siri.

A Zayo fiber cut takes down X, Reddit, and Zoom

A fiber cut on network provider Zayo's routes in Eastern North America knocked X, Reddit, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams offline for thousands of users on Monday morning. X alone logged nearly 36,000 reports in a 15-minute window, with users describing frozen timelines and apps that wouldn't load. Cloudflare said it wasn't experiencing a global outage itself, since the disruption hit sites that depend on Zayo's routes specifically. Most services recovered within about 45 minutes.

AWS ships Blackwell-powered EC2 G7 instances

AWS announced general availability of EC2 G7 instances, accelerated by Nvidia RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs, in US East (Ohio) and US West (Oregon). AWS says the new instances deliver up to 4.6x the AI inference performance and 2.1x the graphics performance of the previous G6 generation.

GitHub Copilot's standalone app graduates to general availability

The GitHub Copilot app, previously in technical preview, is now generally available on macOS, Windows, and Linux for Pro, Pro+, Business, and Enterprise subscribers. The standalone app gives developers a way to chat with Copilot and manage agent sessions outside of an editor or terminal.
